Albuquerque, NM (July 8, 2009) ..Today we visited the Albuquerque Botanical Gardens and Aquarium. Pictured above is an artichoke in bloom !!!! This is something that neither one of us have ever seen before. Click on the photo to see the enlarged version. What a beautiful bloom !!! Check out the trumpet vine below. The garden had many varieties. Who knew that such flora grew in the high desert.
